March into Pitlochry began taking shape in 2015 when a small band of music lovers in the Highland Perthshire area came together with a thought to put on a music event to see out the winter and welcome in the spring. From that kernel of an idea the festival was born and it came to life in March 2016

Not too beaten and bowed by running the 2016 event the team survived to put together a thundering good line up for 2017 and hope that this event will become a much anticipated, annual event across Scotland. The festival committee is a non-profit, volunteer run organisation, dedicated to promoting free live music of all styles and genres, although the widest of wide genres Americana is its base, MiP also has acts which would fit more closely into the indie or rock scene, just a little bit of something  different. The festival actively promotes local acts as well as hosting musicians from across the United Kingdom.
The first MiP was critically acclaimed and fair caused the town of Pitlochry to come alive over the weekend. Acts like Hunter & the Bear, King of Birds and The Carloways all thrived in the intense atmosphere created across the Highland Perthshire town

The Friday and Saturday nights of the event are filled with top acts and many times throughout the weekend there are pop up surprise sessions in addition to the official line up at the 2 venues which for 2017 are McKays Hotel and Pitlochry Town Hall

Once again we are delighted to be supporting Parkinson's UK as our chosen charity of the year
